Having recently stayed at the 1896 House Country Inn - Barnside Inn, I can wholeheartedly recommend it for a family vacation. The charming room was cozy but lacked reading materials. The breakfast was top-notch, enjoyed amidst lovely paintings in the breakfast room. The jacuzzi, complete with bathrobes and slippers, was a fantastic touch.Our family enjoyed the beautiful grounds, although a bit more upkeep would enhance the experience. Exploring the creek and crossing the quaint walking bridge was delightful, offering a serene escape. The luxury suites' old-fashioned decor added a unique touch to our stay.We had a pleasant surprise with the period rooms, a refreshing change from standard hotel themes. Our king suite was spacious and comfortable, boasting a large whirlpool and a cozy gas fireplace.Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the nearby Berkshire area offers an array of exciting activities like white water rafting and hiking. These activities, along with the hotel's family-friendly amenities, make for a memorable vacation experience. The attentive staff, inclusive dining options, and cozy ambiance all contributed to a wonderful stay. I would recommend this property to anyone seeking relaxation and fun for the whole family.
